Lord knows I’d like to stop ripping Sarah Palin around these parts because I’d rather she just go away, but it’s so damned easy. And too often, so damned appropriate for me when pointing out the rampant values-hypocrisy she shows.

Now, we find out the Republican National Committee has been giving Palin the equivalent of $2,500 a day for clothing, to the tune of some $150,000 so far.

And this woman wants to talk about how much she connects with the “real America,” which she defines as rural America. Where, I’m pretty sure, there are an awful lot of people who don’t have $2,500 worth of clothing in their entire home.

So, the economy is going into the dumper and she (and the Republican machine) want to clothe her in fancy digs. Even if she needs a whole new freaking outfit every day, you’re telling me she can’t find good ones for under a few hundred dollars?

For one thing, I hardly find this kind of thing to be very humble or responsible, two things that being such a supposedly devout Christian are things she should aspire to.

More hyporcrisy. More waste. More ego. More recklessness.

And, dare I say it: Elitism. That very same word that she keeps tossing around to describe Barack Obama.

But I got a feeling that Barack Obama isn’t spending this kind of money, and probably his wife ain’t either.

(Yeah, I heard she’s going to donate them to charity. I’ll believe that they all go that route when I see it. And it doesn’t change the fact that she’s spending too much money on the wrong thing. And the charity idea probably only came up after people realized publicly how much she was spending.)

I already got in trouble for having her on my list of “Guilty Pleasures” a few days ago. If you’re referring to adding her to my list of women I’d break the 7th commandment over, from a couple months back, THAT won’t happen.

    A) Not hot enough.

    B) I like getting regular (or at least semi-regular) sexual contact from Mrs. Blue.

The clothes are only important because of the hypocrisy of McPalin. They have repeatedly attacked Obama for being an empty suit, which is just another one of their lies. In the meantime, it turns out that not only is Palin just a fancy wardrobe, but a tax=payer paid for one at that.

I agree. It’s really the hypocrisy thing that gets me.

McCain-Palin has philanderer/wife-abandoner for a prez candidate and a VP candidate who’s teen daughter exhibits all the stuff that the GOP slams minorities for. Yet Obama, as far as I can see, hasn’t so much as sniffed another woman’s neck aside from his wife’s, and somehow, he lacks values.

Palin gets big wardrobe…Michelle Obama shops at H&M and Barack Obama has well-worn shoes. Yet somehow it’s the Obamas who are “elitist” and out of touch.

Palin has “executive experience” in a state with less people than Barack’s district in Illinois, yet somehow he’s not ready for the job of prez and she supposedly is (should McCain croak).

Palin and McCain both have lists of shady characters in their circle of contacts, yet Barack Obama is the one who has to answer for all of his associations while they get off mostly scot-free.

Obama’s been campaigning for what, two years now? Palin just recently came on the scene. But somehow, we don’t know enough about him and he hasn’t been vetted…yet somehow she’s a “known quanitity.”

    It’s maddening.

::sigh:: I saw a few news clips about the $150K wardrobe. Technically, the tab counts as “income” to Sarah Palin and she is supposed to pay taxes on it. According to the news, her response was, “The clothes belong to the Republican party. I just wear them so I don’t owe any taxes.”

Then along comes the new idea to auction the clothes or give them to charity…

I see the GOP tax plan. Don’t tax the rich. In fact, promote tax evasion. At the same time, McCain wants to tax my medical benefits via my employer as income to me – for the first time in history. I’m struggling enough, thank you. Additional taxes to insure me and my two sons is a deal-breaker for me.

    The McCain/Palin ticket is nauseating.
